Miriam Traher
Based in Ontario, Miriam is an intuitive artist, inspired by memories of life in Haliburton, the quiet of rain on the water, the vibrant colours of the changing seasons and the sharp relief of different textures from the rugged rock cliffs, the struggling lone pine tree permanently misshapen by the wind or delicate wildflowers growing haphazardly about. Her work is about the experiences and memories that connect us. Colour is her language, and marks and shapes are her words. She speaks with her hands, painting to say what she can't put into words.
