Pauline Jans
Pauline moved to the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia to embrace adventure and a simpler life experience. A longing to express more deeply and be less "precise" nudged her artwork from representational to abstract. A daily practice of hiking rugged landscapes urged her to explore the emotional influence of craggy places and spaces and to release the polish of wine country. Her abstracts are process-driven, where exploration and discovery lead the way. Her sensitivity to design and balance and experiencing the natural topography that flanks Okanagan Lake juxtaposes her search for depth and meaning.
