Claudia Lorenz
Working primarily with collage & mixed media, Claudia’s work has the aesthetic qualities of a worn, aged surface that hints at the passage of time while remaining fresh and new. By working with multiple layers, she can hide and reveal pieces of her past that remind her of home, family and childhood experiences. Claudia combines old book pages, sewing patterns, handwritten letters and personal mark-making with paint and ink. Black is nearly always present in her work as it represents life’s everyday darkness.
